This site was formerly Living Room, but before that, it was The Bike People. We have simply returned to our emphasis on bicycling in the city in the context of cultural, social, and environmental sustainability. All our former content is still available through the article indexes on the left.

Ride a Bike! T-ShirtA boy, a dog, and a bicycle...nostalgic 1930s image with a message for the millenia! For lighter colors only.
Velo Love T-ShirtBeautiful graphic by Chuck Schmidt shouts it out for all to know! Forceful yet understated--just like bicycling.
This has been a real favorite with our customers!
Old-School Fixed (Schwinn) T-ShirtBeautiful image of a Schwinn "Superior Racer" track bike from their 1939 catalogue. Elegant pen-and-ink drawing with the caption "Old-School Fixed" underneath. The real deal, one of the last American classic track racing bicycles. (Image size on shirt is 7.5" x 4.5".)
Old-School Fixed (Lewis) T-ShirtHandsome drawing of a Lewis Lightweights fixed-gear country bike from their 1939 catalogue. One of the finest catalogue drawings we have seen, brilliantly realized in thermal transfer by Chuck Schmidt, representing a high-end American marque of the time, now sadly gone. (Image size on shirt is 7.5" x 4.5".)
Old School Fix: Thomas Hardy T-ShirtBeloved author Thomas Hardy with his faithful Rover Cobb, in Dorchester sometime after World War I. Writer of poetry and such well-known novels as Far from the Madding Crowd and Jude the Obscure, Hardy was introduced to bicycling by his first wife, Emma, and continued to wheel around Dorchester on his "byke" (as he called it in letters) until he was well into his eighties.
Fixing the City T-ShirtStark black-and-white skyline with a fixed-gear cog rising behind it, and the legend, "Fixing the City." Let 'em know you're not only having fun but saving the world! From an original photo by BF editor Rick Risemberg. (Image size on shirt is 10" x 4".)
Human on Board T-ShirtPlays on the old "Baby on Board" signs that we all loved to make fun of back when, so maybe those overgrown toddlers in their motorized baby carriages will be able to identify with you and give you a bit of room. Image is on the back of the shirt, of course. (Image size on shirt is 10" x 10".)
More T-shirts coming soon!
